Gout:
Do you have lumps and bumps on your joints from gout?
Join a Clinical Study for Chronic Gout

Chronic gout is the most severe form of gout. It occurs when uric acid builds up around your tissues, causing swollen growths under your skin called tophi.
The REDUCE-1 Study is looking at an investigational study drug to see how safe it is and whether it works to reduce and prevent tophi.
We are looking for people who:
- are 18 to 85 years of age
- have a history of gout
- have had at least 2 gout flares in the past year
- have at least 1 visible tophus (swollen growth from gout).
People who have gout without tophi may also be eligible.
Study participants will be in the study for about 14 months and will have up to 10 visits to the study center.
Please speak with your doctor or rheumatologist to see if you may be eligible.
Receive up to $2,195 for your time and travel

The study:
- Has been reviewed by an Institutional Review Board (IRB)/ Ethics Committee (EC). An IRB/EC protects the rights, safety, and well-being of study participants
- Plans to enroll a variety of people because gout and medications may affect people differently
- Will provide the study-related medication, health assessments, and medical tests at no cost.
- Receive up to $2,195 for your time and travel
Signing up is Easy by Following These 5 Simple Steps!
Please fill out the submission form provided below.
One of our friendly medical screeners will contact you.
The screener will organize a no-cost medical consultation and examination if you meet the eligibility criteria.
Your appointments will be scheduled, and you may receive study-related medication.
You may receive up to $2,195 for your time and travel.
About gout
Gout is a form of arthritis (a disease that affects joints). Gout happens when
the body has too much uric acid. This extra uric acid creates crystals that build around and settle in the joints. The build-up of uric acid causes attacks (also called flares) of painful and swollen joints, and tophi (swollen growths around joints).

What is a clinical research study?
A clinical research study is a medical study that helps to answer important questions about an investigational medication, such as:
- Does it work?
- What amount, or dose, may work best?
- How safe is it?
- Are there side effects?
All medications must be tested in clinical research studies before they can be
approved to prescribe to patients. Without people taking part in these studies, we would have no new medications.
People may experience chronic gout in different ways. We work to make sure that our studies include people of different races, ethnicities, genders, ages, and backgrounds. This helps us to see how the study drug works for different people who are impacted by gout.
